3rd Lisburn, Attended the monthly UAF Directors meeting.
3rd Lisburn, Attended the Water Framework Directive Stakeholders meeting.
8th Omagh, Chairman attended the meeting of the Loughs Agency Advisory Forum
9th Comber, Attended the Strangford & Lecale (Water Framework Directive) Catchment Stakeholder Group meeting.
15th Lisburn, Chairman attended a meeting with NIEA regarding Consents to Discharge on the river Clady, Co. Londonderry.
15th Limavady, Chairman, attended a site meeting with Roe Angling Association regarding various issues on the River Roe including hydroelectricity.
15th Limavady, Chairman attended meeting of Lower Foyle (Water Framework Directive) Catchment Stakeholder Group
16th Belfast, Meeting with Chairman to discuss outstanding issues.
16th Comber, Met with members from the Inler club to discuss various issues associated with the river.
28th Antrim, Attended the monthly meeting of the Six Mile Trust.
28th Portadown, Chairman, along with Director Gary Houston attended a meeting of the DCAL Salmon and Inland Fisheries Forum to discuss changes to the Fisheries Act.
Correspondence / E-mails
E-Mail to N I Water requesting an update on the lease of NIW Reservoirs given leases have now expired.
E-Mail to DCAL regarding the lack of smolt grilles on turbines on the Clady River.
E-Mail to Paul McAleavey of DCAL Inland Fisheries requesting a date for the Fermanagh Clubs meeting.
E-Mail to Jack McIlheron of DCAL Inland Fisheries to advise the details of the bailiff training when finalised.
E-Mail to Una Johnston re a query on where to get some training in fly fishing for her son.
E-Mail to NIEA Water Management Unit about the alleged pollution from Wrights factory in Ballymena.
7th April; Submission to NIEA on Leitrim river, (Dundrum) hydroelectric scheme
28th April; Submission to NIEA on Consent to Discharge on the river Clady, Co. Antrim.
Discussions with
DCAL Inland Fisheries on some of the issues on the Clady River.
Background research work on the following: -
Hydroelectric schemes; it is vital that clubs monitor developments in their area. Whilst the Federation is not opposed to all hydroelectric schemes, it is apparent that Licence conditions being applied by NIEA will not be sufficient to protect rivers, and need to be improved.
