5th Portadown, Chairman and Gary Houston, Director, attended meeting of the DCAL Salmon and Inland Fisheries Advisory Forum
6th Crawfordsburn, Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime (PAW) meeting to discuss wildlife crime.
6th Lisburn, Attended the monthly Directors meeting.
12th Antrim, Attended a seminar hosted by N I Water entitled “Partners against Pollution”.
18thStormont, Chairman and Director Michael Martin attended Assembly debate on fish kill of 29 October on Sixmilewater river.
24th Stormont, Meeting with Phil Flanagan (Sinn Fein) to discuss issues around fracking.
25th Cookstown, Meeting of the Fresh Water Taskforce to discuss the implementation of the Water Framework Directive.
27th Templepatrick, Meeting with Clady A C and NIEA to discuss the discharge consent for Clarkes Mill, Upperlands, Maghera.
27th November, Belfast, Chairman attended meeting with Sport NI, re the organisation of angling coaching courses.
Discussions with
Mervyn Kinloch from Derg A Assoc about future coaching courses.
Correspondence / E-mails .
E-Mail to Seamus Connor of DCAL about the notification being sent out to clubs for river works being carried out by Rivers Agency.
E-mail to Northern Ireland Environmental Link (NIEL) with a reply to their European Programme Participation Survey for funding from the next peace dividend.
E-mail to all clubs in the Western Health Board Trust about an opportunity for free training and equipment.
E-mail to Garrison Lough Melvin club with a copy of the recent fish report based on the Water Framework Directive.
E-mail with attached letter to the Environment Minister following his remarks in the Assembly regarding the recent fish kill in the Six Mile Water.
Consultation Submissions;
10th Nov.; DARD/DCAL Proposals for a new Fisheries Bill.
19th Nov.; Car nroe Weir and Hydro Scheme, R. Bann - EIA Scoping.
Courses run this month;
3 & 4th Nov.; Sport NI/ Ulster Angling Federation; First For Sport Level 1 Award; Angling Coaching Course at Tollymore Centre, Newcastle.
22 & 23th Nov.; Sport NI/ Ulster Angling Federation; First For Sport Level 1 Award; Angling Coaching Course at Gortin, Co. Tyrone.
NOTICE FOR CLUB SECRETARIES
Poaching
Please ensure any potential poaching issues or information is forwarded to the Federation Development Officer as set out in the forms re-issued in July 11.
Private Water Bailiffs (PWB)
Please see recent e-mail, clubs may claim back court expenses from DCAL for up to 5 PWB. This is backdated from 1st April 2013.
Slurry Spreading
As you may be aware the closed season for slurry spreading began on the 16th October until 31st January any breach of this directive should be reported on the pollution hotline 0800 80 70 60
